Dive Deep into The Foundations of a Sustainable Coaching Business (via The Coaching Business Flywheel)
The Coaching Business Flywheel is the cumulation of what I’ve learned from building a coaching business (that sustained me full time within two years of starting my training), from supporting coaches one-to-one and in groups, and from interviewing successful coaches for years on The Coach’s Journey Podcast.
It’s my attempt to boil everything I’ve learned down into one model. It contains the ONLY five things you HAVE to do to have a sustainable coaching business and helps you link them together in a virtuous cycle that can have your business grow and grow and grow.
That doesn’t make it easy. But hopefully it does make it more simple and less opaque and confusing.
Do the five things in the Coaching Business Flywheel.
Everything else is just Resistance.
But… It’s one thing to have a neat little image.
It’s another to have a free ebook.
But what is magical about a model like this is when we can bring it to life.
That’s what I love about teaching The Coaching Business Flywheel, as I’ve done for my own community and for organisations like The Association For Coaching.
What we care about at The Coach’s Journey is the world as a whole. The vision we have for the future, and the part we want to play, is that everyone who has the potential to be an amazing coach gets to do amazing coaching. And particularly, that no one quits coaching because the business of coaching is too hard.
That’s why Ruth and I got together to create a six-episode series called Coaching Business Fundamentals.
The first episode outlines the Coaching Business Flywheel as a model and why it matters, then episodes 2-6 cover each part of the Flywheel in turn. I share as much as possible of what I’ve learned, and Ruth keeps us on track and asks the questions that help us fulfil our vision for this series: to make it as practical and action-focused as we can.
You can find links to each episode page below, or find them in your podcast player by searching Coaching Business Fundamentals.

In particular, it includes the two most powerful emails I’ve ever sent for creating new clients. You can read more and buy it here.
And of course all over this site, you’ll find things to help you: podcast episodes, videos and writing, all designed to help demystify how coaching businesses actually work and support you to step into courage and create the business that really matters to you.
When you’re ready to connect with me and other coaches about all this, The Coach’s Journey Community is right here. It’s flexible and affordable - part of my commitment to removing barriers to having successful coaching businesses.
Can’t wait to meet you, and best of luck on your journey,
